Vermont Investment Adviser Representative Registration Requirements

A Vermont investment adviser representative files Form U4, examination proof or exemption, and the $80 state fee through IARD/CRD. Qualification is Series 65 or Series 7 plus Series 66; current CFP, ChFC, PFS, CFA, or CIC holders qualify for the rule’s designation exemption. After two years without IAR registration in any jurisdiction, the examination requirement applies again. Registration becomes effective 45 days after a complete filing unless approved earlier, expires December 31, and renews annually for $80. Each reporting period requires 6 Ethics and Professional Responsibility credits, including at least 3 ethics hours, and 6 Products and Practice credits.
